SSUPD Meshroom-S SFF PC Case Review

The Example Build

Our test build contains the Intel Core i5 13600 CPU, Colorful CVN B760M Frozen micro ATX motherboard, Kingston FURY Renegade 2x32GB DDR5-6000 – white edition memory kit, RTX4070 Founders Edition graphics card, and Lian Li SP850 850W Gold 80+ PSU. The CPU is cooled by Alphacool custom loop, which includes the recently reviewed Core 1 CPU cooler in a white version.

As much as I like unique builds and I enjoy building computers, then the whole installation in the Meshroom-S wasn’t much fun. The mentioned on the last page issues, caused me to lose a lot of time, even though everything was planned before. I had to change the mounting of the radiator and other components a couple of times. Because of multiple possible installation options, everything can be confusing. Later we see that the designers had some good ideas, but too much information may cause users to get lost.

The PC looks very clean and simple. The Meshroom-S minimalistic design with mesh panels is already popular; looking at a not-much-different Meshilicious case, which sells well.

Our PC was planned with lower wattage components, but I can’t say it runs very quietly. Because of the installation choice and mATX motherboard, it clearly lacks airflow. It’s not a matter of the used cooling components, but that everything is very tight. Regardless if we turn around the radiator and its fans, there are barely a few millimeters from the motherboard. Once again, I feel like the mATX or ATX option would be much better and easier to build with air cooling, while the fancy custom water cooling loops would work better with ITX-size motherboards.

The temperature delta with opened and closed side and front panels is around 5°C, which suggests that the mesh helps a lot, but it asks for help in intake/exhaust.

It doesn’t change the fact that the PC looks great, and I hope that our build helps other users to design unique gaming computers and avoid some possible issues.
