NF-P12 Redux Fan Series

The new redux edition reissues this award-winning model in a streamlined, accessibly priced package that has been reduced to the essential core: the NF-P12 premium fan. The 1300rpm PWM version features Noctua’s proprietary NE-FD1 PWM IC for automatic speed control, which allows to strike a perfect balance between high cooling capacity and low noise operation in each given situation.

Noctua Redux fans are probably the most popular but I guess that also because of a lower price. These fans are based on older but also a great design. In the box, we won’t find much more than four screws for fan installation. Many users find it just right as they won’t need additional extension cables or low-noise adaptors. Everything else can be also purchased separately so it’s not an issue.

The first thing which is hard to miss is the fact that Redux fans are gray. Personally, I like it more than the brown used in other series.

There are a couple of features which are described below. What is probably the most important for most users is that Redux fans offer high air pressure what is good especially for radiators and heatsinks. It’s a perfect option for water cooling. Besides the high performance, we can count on silent work. Fans are really quiet either installed on radiators or installed as airflow fans in the PC case.

Custom-designed PWM IC with SCD Supporting fully automatic PWM speed control, the fan uses Noctua’s custom-designed NE-FD1 PWM IC that integrates Smooth Commutation Drive (SCD) technology. By providing smoother torque impulses, SCD suppresses PWM switching noises and thus makes the fan quieter at low speeds.
