Patriot Viper 4 Blackout 128GB DDR4-3600 Memory Kit Review

Conclusion and Verdict

Patriot Viper 4 Blackout DDR4-3600 is perfect for all those who require high capacity RAM. The memory series is available up to 64GB, but there is no problem running two 64GB memory kits on high-quality motherboards. In our case, the Z490 PG Velocita from ASRock did an excellent job and let us even overclock the memory. Even without the overclocking, the Viper 4 Blackout performs well and should satisfy most users, even those more demanding.

For sure, 64GB or 128GB RAM won’t be really popular but gives us a chance to build a powerful workstation in a quite small box that wouldn’t be possible a couple of years ago. Not all memory manufacturers are offering memory kits based on 32GB modules, so it’s also good to see that Patriot supports these specific users.

Prices of the Patriot Viper 4 Blackout 64GB DDR4-3600 memory are starting at about $270, depends on the store. Amazon US has the memory kit in pre-order for around USD $270. I think it’s an excellent price considering how much 64GB DDR4-3600 memory kits of competitive brands can cost.

As all Patriot memory kits, also Viper RGB series are covered by a lifetime warranty.

Pros:

  • High-quality
  • Unique design
  • Performs well at XMP profile
  • High compatibility – works on all modern desktop AMD and Intel chipsets.
  • Reasonable pricing for such high capacity

Cons:

  • Nothing worth to mention

Final words:

The Viper 4 Blackout is a perfect option if we are looking for a great performing and high capacity RAM. It’s fast, looks exceptional, still has some overclocking headroom, and what’s important, it’s widely available at a reasonable price, which is highly competitive on the current market. Whether you’re building a workstation or a gaming PC, you can’t go wrong with the Blackout memory from Patriot.
