BIOSTAR B760M-Silver mATX Motherboard Review

Performance

3D performance and games

3D tests were performed on the reference RTX4070 graphics card – not the fastest, but still a well-performing graphics card. All results in 3D tests and games are exceptional and are not far from what we could see on much more expensive Z790 motherboards.

Above is a result of the Final Fantasy XV Benchmark at 4K, while below is our result in the Superposition benchmark at 8K display resolutions.

The most popular 3D benchmark is, of course, 3DMark. Our results are marked as excellent, much above the average for this graphics card.

All UL benchmarks are showing some excellent scores for our setup. There are no problems with stability or performance.
PCI Express bandwidth is about 25.30GB/s. It’s nearly the same as on the B760A-Silver, so it’s pretty good.

Results in modern games at 1080p and 1440p screen resolution are about as high as on the most expensive Z790 motherboards. In games, it doesn’t matter much which motherboard is in use as long as the CPU boosts high under load. Since the B760M-Silver has no problems keeping the high turbo frequency, the FPS is also high.

Better results would be on a faster CPU, but even the i5-13600 performs well. I assume that the BIOSTAR B760M-Silver will be more often picked with the Core i5 series processor than with any more expensive series.
