Various Usage Types
Here, I’ve attached the receiver to the hot shoe mount of our Canon D80 camera. The XLR to 3.5mm cable is plugged into the mic-in of the camera. I’m assuming the receiver and transmitter units are already paired, if not follow the instructions in the user manual and pair them up. It’s really that simple.
Of course, I had to see if this setup would work on our iPhone. And it’s a big YES. Verdict and Conclusion
Video recording using camcorders, DSLR cameras and smartphones are becoming increasingly popular, especially doing interviews and live events. However, the audio quality of the recordings are generally below the standard I feel acceptable. During video editing you can hear a lot of background noise, hiss and interference. Whether it’s outdoors or indoors, the studio quality of the audio recording (with low noise), is perfect for all my interviewing and showcasing needs, especially during exhibitions and events, . Best of all, it’s a wireless solution. I love it!
