Closer Look
The aesthetics of the Eros V2 are incredible! Gamdias went with an all over black with red trim color scheme much like Perixx went with the 1200. The differences of the two headsets is the design. Perixx went with a 15 level cushioned head band, while the Eros V2 has a very light weight suspended headband. Two wires on each side hold the headband and stretches very easily to fit many different head sizes. I have a very large head and had no problem wearing them. The headband is very light weight and does not dig into you head in any way.
The Eros V2 is comprised of mostly plastic. At first glance, the headset looks like it would be easily broken until you get a hold of them. The V2 seems very solid and well built. I loved the design on each side of the ears. Only complaint I had, is that the plastic is very shiny, which make fingerprints and dust stand out. Even so, the design is very clean and sleek looking. Each ear cups swivel fairly easily, which helps with the comfort level around the ears. Also helping with the comfort level, is the fair amount of cushion that Gamdias provides with each ear cup. The cushion has a leather-like covering that may cause some discomfort with sweaty ears, but should also give the listener a sense of noise cancellation. Inside the ear cups and covering the speakers is a red and black soft mesh covering.
The microphone comes down the left side much like most other headsets and has a pivoting bendable arm for easy adjustment. Protecting the microphone is the same sturdy plastic that is built around the ear cups. Also coming down the left ear is an all over black braided cable. Braided cables are the way to go, especially when you have children in the home. My two girls love to play with my hardware. I have gone through many different headsets and have noticed that the braided cables last longer then the rubber covered ones. On down the braided cable is the 3.5mm jack, which could be used with many different devices like smartphones and tablets. Gamdias also sends a 1.6 m extended cable with gold plated USB plug. The extended cable is also braided. Also included with the braided extendable cable, is an In-line remote that controls the volume and mute options.
