Eros V2 Surround Sound Gaming Headset Review

Conclusion and Verdict

In conclusion, the consumer who buys the Eros V2 will not be disappointed. For the price of the headset the consumer is getting a great deal. Most headsets in this price range usually has quite a few shortcomings. While the Eros V2 is not immortal to the shortcomings, they are few and far and between. The few complaints I have is mostly to do with the In-line remote.

First the in-line remote is added to the extended cable and not added to the main cable, which makes the remote controls un usable with the PS4 and your smartphone. Basically anything you would use with the 3.5mm jack. Being added to the second cable also causes the remote to be so far down the cable instead of sitting in the chest area. Another shortcoming is that you are unable to use the main feature of the Eros V2, the 7.1 Surround Sound, while using just the 3.5mm jack.

With all that being said, there are tons of things to like about the Eros V2. The over all design of the headset is very immaculate. Although the headset’s plastic is very shiny and shows off fingerprints and dust very easily, the Eros V2 is very well built and very comfortable. Being able to with stand my wife’s onslaught told me all I needed to know on how durable they are. Neither my wife nor I had any problems with the headset being uncomfortable. Gamdias went with a lightweight suspension headband.

The headband is so lightweight that you will hardly notice that the Eros V2 even has one. The Eros V2 does not pull back tightly against the head like the Perixx’s 1200 did. I believe that is also due to the suspension design of the Eros V2. Having the 7.1 surround sound and 50mm drives gives this headset an excellent audio quality. You are able to hear everything that is needed while playing games, watching movies, listening to music. The biggest asset in my opinion would be the quality of the microphone. In the EOS software you are able to change the settings of both the audio and microphone, yet there isn’t much of anything you will need to do with the microphone. My wife mainly used this headset with her smartphone, even while on a conference call. Not one person complained, and even some thought she sounded a lot better while using the Eros V2!

The Eros V2 has a MSRP of around $50 USD and can easily found at various e-tailers.

Pros:

  • 50mm gaming drivers
  • 7.1 Surround Sound
  • Easy to use software
  • Lightweight suspension
  • Microphone
  • Cable length

Cons:

  • Placement of In-line remote
  • shiny plastic
  • no surround sound with out USB cable

Final thoughts:

Its never fun being on a budget. That’s why it is always nice to find any budget friendly products. The Eros V2 is very user and budget friendly, while also having all the great features that we all have come to expect when choosing high-end products. Gamdias definitely provided all that and more with the Eros V2. The audio and microphone quality are excellent when using the Eros V2. You will definitely not be disappointed in choosing the Eros V2 over any other headset in it’s price range. I would recommend the Eros V2 to any one that is on a budget.
