Package and its Contents
Predator Hermes memory arrived in a retail package that is larger than the size of the typical flat box of most other brands. The package is well described with all the features and main specifications. There is also info about support and various safety certificates.
Inside the box, we will find two 16GB memory modules, a 40x40mm fan with a mounting kit, and a fan assembly diagram. There is no additional RAM installation manual, but it’s not required as the installation is straightforward, and every motherboard has an installation guide. However, it doesn’t mean that Predator doesn’t provide a manual. We can find it on the product website, available for download.
On our test PC, there was no difference with the used fan, as the airflow is already pretty good. We may use it while overclocking in more standard or tight PC cases. In a large case, I find it pointless, while it may generate unnecessary noise and spoil the aesthetics (if we like to look at our PC insides more often, I don’t judge 🙂 ).
The modules are clearly taller than standard. Our test rig is prepared for even the tallest memory modules, but if you use a tower-type air cooler, you better check for enough space. Most cooler brands think about space for tall RAM, but not all of them.
The heatsinks are not only keeping the memory cool, but they also look exceptional. Predator Hermes catches the eye with a fresh and high-end-looking design. It may not be my favorite design, but it is original and looks great installed on white motherboards like our ASUS APEX.
The RGB illumination works well with all popular motherboard brands. There is no problem with LED synchronization or color palette. In the photos below, you can see how exceptional the memory kit looks during work. The wholly white PC has the advantage of reflecting all the lighting, so some photos look like we used color filters. It looks like that in reality. As you can see, all the RAM colors match everything around.
