ASRock B650E Taichi Lite Motherboard Review

Today, we’ll be taking a quick look at the ASRock B650E Taichi Lite Edition motherboard. This motherboard uses AMD’s B650E chipset and is suitable for all the latest Ryzen 7000-series of processors on the AM5 socket. It supports DDR5 ram with speed of up to DDR5-6600+ OC, and comes with support for PCIE 5 x16 slot for next-gen graphics card, and latest PCIE Gen5x4 M.2 SSDs.

Now the ASRock B650E Taichi Lite edition is virtual identical to the original B650E Taichi, except this time, you don’t the full-cover heatshield on the motherboard, and therefore making it more afforable and much lighter in weight.

It still comes with most of the enthusiast features of the original B650E Taichi including the 24+2+1 Power Phase, 105A SPS for VCore+GT, with Enlarged Heatsink Armor. You also get the BIOS flash back button, 8-layer PCB, Diagnostic LEDs, the Power-on/off and reset buttons.

For audio, it features the Realtek 5.1 HD Nahimic Audio with ESS SABRE 9218 DAC and WIMA Audio Capacitors.

For connectivity, it comes with the Killer E3100G 2.5 Gigabit LAN and Wi-Fi 6E, which is more than enough for today’s needs.

Expansion slots include 1 x PCIe 5.0 x16 Slot and 1 x PCIe 4.0 x16 Slot. It’s enough, though I wished they could have included more.

Storage options include 4 SATA ports, 1 x Blazing M.2 slot which supports PCIE 5 Gen5x4, and 2 x Hyper M.2 Socket for PICE Gen4x4.

And finally, it comes with all of ASRock’s unique features such as ASRock EZ settings, the Lightning Gaming Ports, and of course ASRock’s Polychrome RGB.

The B650E chipset is one of AMD’s most popular chipset supporting all the latest Ryzen 7000 series of processors on the new AM5 socket (LGA1718). It provides a total of 36 usable PCIE lanes and supports CPU overclocking as well as AMD’s EXPO for optimized memory profiles. And of course, it supports DDR5 memory, PCIE 5.0 standards for both GPU and M.2 SSDs. Let’s take a closer look below …

AMD B650E Chipset

If you are a serious gamer or creator, you will want an AMD B650E motherboard. With PCIe® 5.0 support for your NVMe drive and DDR5 support featuring AMD EXPO™ technology, AMD B650E is packed with features that help speed up your game.

“”Taichi” represents the philosophical state of undifferentiated absolute and infinite potential. It’s ASRock’s biggest offering in the easy-to-use, rock-solidly stable line of motherboards that fulfills every task – with style! I would like to thank ASRock for providing the review sample. This is a snippet from what ASRock has to say about themselves on their website:

ASRock Inc. is established in 2002, specialized in the field of motherboards. ASRock strives to build up its own brand. With the 3C design concept, “Creativity, Consideration, Cost-effectiveness”, the company explores the limit of motherboards manufacturing while paying attention on the eco issue at the same time, developing products with the consideration of eco-friendly concept.

ASRock has been growing fast and become world third largest motherboard brand with headquarter in Taipei, Taiwan and branches in Europe and the USA. The young and vibrant company targets from mainstream to enthusiast MB segments for different kinds of users, owning reputation around the world market with its reliability and proficiency.

We’ve already reviewed both the X670E Taichi and the B650E Taichi from ASRock, which we thought are excellent motherboards that offer amazing performance with plenty of enthuisast features. Now, with B650E Taichi Lite, I’m expecting the same in terms of performance at a much lower cost.

We’ll be testing the ASRock B650E Taichi Lite Motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (AM5) processor at default speed, along with 32GB of Patriot Viper Gaming Venom RGB DDR5-6200, a Lexar NM800 2TB Gen4 SSD, and an Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics card.

OK, now let’s begin by taking a look at the specifications and features in our next page. You can buy the ASRock B650E PG Riptide motherboard for around USD $275 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/3EctbJj
