Today, we’ll be taking a look at the Cougar GEX X2 1000W ATX 3.0 power supply. The It GEX X2 is a compact, fully modular power supply that comes with flat power cables. It uses 100% Japanese capacitor for increased stability and life-span, and it’s certified 80 Plus Gold, giving you an extremely high power efficiency.
It also features a powerful +12V single rail at 83.3A giving you a maximum total output of 1000W, which is more than enough for most enthusiasts to power their high-end gaming systems.
It supports the latest ATX 3.0 and PCIe 5.0 standards and features the new 12VHPWR 16-pin power connector to support all the latest next-gen graphics card, such as Nvidia’s high-end GeForce RTX 40-series. Included in the package, you’ll find one 12VHPWR 16-pin power cable
At only 140mm in length, the GEX X2 is one of the most compact, fully modular power supply on the market, making it an ideal choice for most system builders. Total dimension is 140 x 150 x 86 (mm).
Additonally, it comes with an exclusive 120mm silent fan which offers good air-flow, silent operation and low vibration.
We’ll be testing the PSU on our test rig which is comprised of an Intel Core i9-13900K, an Asus Strix Z790 motherboard, 32GB of Patriot Viper RGB DDR5-6200 ram, Adata Legend 840 1TB SSD, and a GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card. The total power consumption should be well over 700W+
